How the estimate is calculated

The tool multiplies the number of transactions by the estimated gas per transaction, then multiplies the number of bridge operations by the estimated fee per bridge. Other nonrecoverable fees are added to those two totals.

Out-of-pocket estimate = transaction count × gas per transaction + bridge count × fee per bridge + other fees.

Capital committed is shown next to the result but is not included in the expense total. Deposits and collateral can be lost or restricted, so “not counted as a fee” does not mean “risk-free.”

Which numbers should you enter?

Use quotes from the wallet, bridge, exchange, or protocol you would actually use. If different actions have different gas estimates, calculate a cautious average or group similar actions into separate runs.

“Other fees” can include known swap, protocol, withdrawal, or service charges. Do not include the face value of a speculative reward, and do not subtract an unconfirmed reward from the result.

What the calculator does not include

The result does not automatically price slippage, price impact, time, taxes, market loss, smart-contract risk, phishing loss, or withdrawal restrictions. It also does not know whether a campaign is legitimate or whether an action will qualify.

Privacy and data handling

The calculation runs in your browser. The current version does not save values to a Web3Trail account, place them in a shareable URL, or require a wallet connection. Avoid entering wallet addresses or other personal information because the tool does not need them.

Does this use live gas prices?

No. Enter the current estimate shown by the wallet for the exact action and network you plan to use.

Why is capital committed separate?

A deposit or collateral position is not automatically spent as a fee. It remains exposed to market, contract, liquidity, and withdrawal risks, so the tool makes it visible without adding the full amount to out-of-pocket cost.

Can I use a different currency?

Yes. Choose the matching currency label and enter every amount in that same currency. The tool changes formatting only; it does not perform exchange-rate conversion.

Does a low estimate mean the campaign is safe?

No. Cost, legitimacy, eligibility, security, and expected value are separate questions.
